Financial Accountant

Job Title: Financial Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports to: Financial Accounting Manager
Status: Exempt (Salary)
License: Requires a Class III Gaming License

SUMMARY: Compiles accounting data, prepares cost reports, trial balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other budgetary data. Performs all clerical functions and performs general record keeping for Accounts Payable.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully complete the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance with one-year experience in Accounts Payable. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year University or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of accounting software, (e.g. Sage MAS 500, Excel, Word, report writer, etc.) and computer literate.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to associates of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires sedentary work. The associate is only occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The associate is sitting most of the time.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Winners Club Cashier

Job Title: Winners Club Cashier

SUMMARY: The Winners Club Cashier is responsible to provide exceptional front line guest service to our guests. Responsibilities include; executing promotions, special events and box office sales while ensuring responsibility of a cash drawer, inventory of cash, coin and gaming chips as well as processing fills/credits for table games. The candidate is expected to work in harmony with their co-workers, interacting with all Winners Club associates to ensure an efficient work environment is achieved.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to count currency & coin accurately and in large quantities. Must be able to add / subtract simple math in head to give proper payout; Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume using adding machine. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must have computer operating skills and ability to navigate through email software & program be able to comprehend procedures involving data entry and transaction recording as well as understand common terms used with computer systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long period of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as well as push a wheeled cash cart across the gaming floor weighing approximately 100lbs; at times may be required to assist with pushing a large fill trolley on wheels with an approximate weight of 1000 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is continuous exposure of the employee to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor. There is an occasional exposure to disgruntled guests.
