Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort Toy Drive Donates to Local Organizations

(Akwesasne, NY, Dec. 20, 2016) – Every year, the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort holds a Christmas Toy Drive to support local organizations that provide holiday assistance to families in need. This year, guests who donated an unopened and unwrapped toy or gift certificate received their choice of a FREE bingo card or $5 slot play with a 175 toys donated. Also, there was an angel tree in the employee break room, with a total of 278 gifts provided by AMCR staff. Additionally, the AMCR security department collected funds internally and purchased 46 toys to donate to the cause. The combined efforts brought in 499 toys this year.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort has partnered with the following organizations as recipients of the Christmas Toy Drive: St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Department of Social Services (DSS), and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Child & Family Services (DCFS).“We are honored to be a part of the annual fundraiser that provides a Christmas to families in need,” states Shannon Keel, General Manager. “We would like to thank our guests and staff for participating and help provide families with gifts this holiday season.”
