July 30, 2018 – The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort held a groundbreaking ceremony for Maple Steak & Ale and Maple Brewery. A crowd of roughly 30 attendees, including employees, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe council members, contractors, and media gathered for speeches and ceremonial groundbreaking.
“Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort is proud to be the entertainment destination of the North Country. Our guests enjoy coming to our property because of the friendly atmosphere that our staff provides. The addition of another amenity brings a new level of excitement for our guests,” stated Todd Papineau, AMCR General Manager. Maple Steak & Ale is expected to open mid-December. The 1,400 square foot addition will feature over 8 handcrafted beers on tap that will be served throughout the gaming floor. The four barrel system will be producing 160 half kegs of beer per month with the expectation to distribute to local bars, restaurants and convenience stores.
“We are thrilled to deliver a true local beer experience to our guests and to be the first casino in New York State with a Brewery as an amenity. Guests will be able to view the four barrel SmartBrew operating system through the dining area. A 12-seat bar will be added for guests to come in and taste some of the signature ales on tap as well as a rotating menu of seasonal ales. The beer will also become a component of some the menu items including braised items, sauces and chocolate cake,” added Toby TenEyck, Director Food & Beverage.
